Exercise induced asthma

Many a times we observe that people faint and gasp a lot of breath while they exercise. They just think it to be common and natural to breathe a lot while exercising, but this is not true. This is basically another type of asthma that is caused and named after the exercises. This is known as exercise induced asthma. This type of asthma is more common in children rather than adults. There was lot of research done in this field too; finally doctors gave the conclusion that adults do not feel such symptoms because they rarely exercise. This less exercising acts in preventing them from this type of asthma. People who have asthma needs proper care while exercising so as to prevent themselves from this respiratory disorder.

There are different types of exercises that use different physical processes while we exercise. There are exercises that use same amount of oxygen level but they might use lot of physical work. There are chances that few exercises might cause congestion in chest and there are cases in which you cough or feel wheezy a lot. Swimming is considered to be an apt exercise for the person who is suffering asthma because it requires least chest tightness, while running requires lot of it. Running indoors or outdoors both are similar. If there is a change in the air temperature then the moist or dry air can really change the asthmatic condition of the body. In moist or warm air asthma would be less while in cold air the asthma condition could rise. While running we breathe dry air thus causing more asthma, while in swimming moist air decreases the asthma levels in the body.

There are people who are allergic to chlorine when these people swim or have a bath in chlorinated water then the asthma level rises thus causing more and more difficulty for the asthmatic. There is one other factor that might affect the person’s asthmatic condition and that is the exercising time, mainly six minutes of continuous exercise can really trigger the asthmatic symptoms, less than this time would not be able to trigger the asthmatic effects. If you have triggered the asthmatic symptoms after a particular set of exercises then again repeating the same set of exercises won’t cause the same amount of effect of these exercises that means you wouldn’t have the asthmatic symptoms again while you repeat the exercises.

So a simple warm up before going in for the rigorous exercises would be of a definite help to you. If you lack the continuation of these exercises then there are chances that you may get those symptoms of exercise induced asthma back so beware. Thus exercises along with small amount of physical work should be repeated to avoid any kind of serious asthmatic affect.
