There are three types of asthma attacks: mild, moderate and severe. The last one may even cause death. The first two present the following symptoms: coughing, tightness and the chest or wheezing. Signs may appear in a woman and still she can ignore the fait that it was asthma to produce them.
An attack of asthma has the following steps: a contraction of the muscles around the airways, which causes their obstruction, then more mucus than usually is generated and it blocks even more the airways. The inflammation produced that way gives breathlessness, tightness of the chest, wheezing and caught. Cyanosis appears as a consequence to the lack of oxygen. The muscles around the neck contract and the heart rate increases.
